Established in 1989 by Stephen Janson, Janson Media is an independent content distribution company based in the United States, with a rights portfolio of over 1,200 hours of exclusive programming available for licensing to worldwide television, DVD/video, and emerging VOD and broadband companies. The company has licensed programming to virtually every country in the world, and its clients include nearly every major broadcaster or media company, as well as a wide range of DVD labels and distributors. The Janson Media Television Catalog is continually updated with new releases, and includes documentaries and reality programming, music and performance, lifestyle, nature & wildlife, science, health, sport, travel, adventure, how-to, history, current affairs, children's programming, dramas and features.

The company is also a DVD publisher and manufacturer with a growing collection of quality titles, ranging from children's and family films to award-winning documentaries and educational programs in the categories of travel, health and exercise, cooking, spirituality, history, pop culture, art, music, how-to, and self-help. The Janson Media DVD Catalog is available from most online retailers, mail-order catalogs, and many traditional retailers where DVDs are sold, and is also distributed to colleges and universities, schools, public libraries, churches, hospitals and non-profit organizations of all kinds. Most titles are now also available as digital downloads and some are still available in the VHS video format.
