    Reviews

“Danny has irresistible appeal to everyone.” – Scholastic Magazine

“There’s something about kids and animals that causes most movie-makers to turn sentimental, but there’s nothing sticky about this sweet tale. Talented newcomers, handsome horses.” – Seventeen Magazine

“A heart-warming story of a girl and the pony she has faith in when others are losing theirs… well-acted by all… a clean, charming, wholesome film.” – Film News

“A touching film that young horse lovers no matter their experience will treasure.” – Horse Show Magazine

“This utterly charming film is a gentle and unassuming look at the relationship between a young girl and her pony. Although many movies have been produced around this classic theme, this one is different in its attention to the details of horse and country life and utter lack of Hollywood glamour. This is a delightful family drama, which should appeal to both children and adults, especially but not exclusively to horse lovers. It is highly recommended for kindergarten through junior high and general adult collections in public libraries. Highly Recommended ” – Educational Media Reviews Online

    “Recommended. Three Stars.” -Video Librarian

“Rebecca Page plays a poor girl who comes across an injured horse. She names the animal Danny, nurses it back to health, and grows to love it. The problem is that the horse had previously been sold off to a wealthy family, whose spoiled daughter (Janet Zarish), having previously rejected Danny because of his injuries, now wants the horse back. Who will emerge triumphant?” ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
