Not only do Matt and Brittney explore these locations like regular tourists, they also go behind-the-scenes with interactive experiences that kids can only dream of. Join Matt and Brittney as they dive with sharks, and perform in dolphin shows. Kid Guides is your ticket to fun and adventure!

    Certified Kids Program
Matt refines his scuba skills by attending the certified kids’ program at Kids Sea Camp on the Caribbean island of Curaçao. Matt dives the reefs to study underwater ecology, and learns a variety of skills including fish identification, underwater navigation, and underwater photography. Highlights include diving in the open water with dolphins and sea lions, observing sea horses and moray eels up close, feeding sharks, wreck diving at one of Curaçao’s premiere dive sites, and being swarmed by sea rays!

    Dolphin Academy
Brittney attends Curaçao’s Dolphin Academy, where she learns to be a dolphin trainer. She is taught to prepare food for the dolphins and care for them, and gradually learns to work with the dolphins as they practice their tricks. By the end of the week, Brittney is participating in dolphin shows — in the water with the dolphins — at the Curaçao Sea Aquarium! Also, Brittney’s scuba diving skills improve as she pursues her scuba certification.

    Seal Team
Jason, our youngest Kid Guide, attends the Seal Team Class at Kids Sea Camp, which is for 8 and 10-year old children. Jason learns to scuba dive, advancing through a variety of “missions” such as, dives with groupers and rays. In his final task, he dives in the open ocean feeding sea turtles and sharks. Jason also explores the Curaçao Sea Aquarium and has a few dolphin and sea lion encounters along the way.

    Reviews

“The DVD is an excellent way to introduce children to what it takes to explore the ocean floor and become marine animal trainers. The learning process is captured inside and outside of the classroom for specialized instruction ending with underwater graduation for students. The film offers an amazing look at underwater shots of coral reefs and a spectrum of sea life for participants to identify and interact with at the Curacao Sea Aquarium. The video takes the audience inside this special camp offering rare opportunities for children and families to participate in.

Kid Guides has received a generous number of awards including an Emmy and the “Seal of Approval” from the Parents Television Council. The videos would be a great addition to any public library or school media collection. Highly Recommended” -Educational Media Reviews Online

“I let my kids watch some clips and they really liked it (they totally dug the “kid” hosts) and I liked it, too, because it was remarkably devoid of spastic, screaming, anthropomorphic cartoon animals (or sponges) and it’s not dumbed down to the point of tedium.” Green Mom Review
