The company has a number of on-site internship positions available to students enrolled in an accredited college or university. Internships are unpaid; student interns receive college credit. Internships generally last for one semester (Spring or Fall) or for a winter or summer intersession. All work is performed on-site under the hands-on management of a Janson Media executive. Each internship includes review meetings and reports as required by the partnering college or university.
DIGITAL VIDEO INTERNSHIPS
As part of its international film and television distribution and digital aggregation businesses, Janson Media’s digital media department edits video files of documentary films, factual television shows, and other film and video content, and disseminates them to its global network of broadcast and media clients, and via the company’s multiple websites, youtube channels, and social media platforms.
- Organizing and accessing our archive of broadcast-quality master video files (eg. Pro Res, XDCAM, DNXHD)
- Video Editing using Final Cut Pro X and/or Adobe Premiere for various digital platforms such as Hulu, iTunes, Amazon, Youtube.
- Exporting and converting video files for those digital platforms.
The candidate should be very comfortable working with Apple Macintosh computers and Final Cut Pro and/or Premiere editing software. A good understanding of web-based video platforms (eg. Youtube, Vimeo) is also important. The intern should be passionate about television, film, media.
The intern will become more proficient with Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere editing as a result of hands-on work in a real world environment.
Communications, Digital Media, or Broadcasting and Film majors preferred.
WEB & SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING INTERNSHIPS
As part of its international film and television distribution and DVD/Digital publishing businesses, Janson Media conducts ongoing promotion and marketing campaigns on behalf of documentary films, factual television shows, and other film and video content. The campaigns are targeted to the company’s global network of broadcast and media clients, as well as to buyers of documentaries on DVD and viewers of web video content. The campaigns utilize the company’s multiple websites, youtube channels, and social media platforms.
- Develop and write engaging social media posts
- Research trending content related to the television and film industry to share via social networks and publish to Janson Media’s social media platforms
- Interact with users interested in Janson Media content via Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
- Weekly review of our social media analytics
The intern should possess excellent writing and time management skills, and be proficient working with Apple Macintosh computers and the WordPress publishing platform. A solid understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google Plus, Instagram, Reddit, etc.) is important. The intern should be passionate about television and film, specifically documentaries and factual content.
The intern will become more proficient with the power and complexities of social media marketing, as a result of hands-on work in the real world.
Business Marketing, Digital Media, TV/Film, Communications, or English majors preferred.
