Worldwide Distribution
Our worldwide Distribution Agreements are designed for completed films, programs or series seeking distribution to worldwide content markets. We consider content that is professionally-produced and for which we see strong revenue potential. Professional producers should be prepared to meet our deliverables requirements.
The rights we exploit on a regular basis include:
- Worldwide Television rights (broadcast, cable, satellite)
- VOD (Video-on-Demand) and Pay-Per-View rights
- Videogram (DVD and digital/EST) rights (if a program has been released on U.S. DVD, we can license internationally)
- Non-Theatrical rights (inflight airline, hotels rooms, ships-at-sea, place-based, etc.)
- New Media rights (internet, EST, MOD, IPTV, mobile)
- Stock Footage rights
- Educational rights
Distribution Agreements
Our Distribution Agreements are exclusive. To understand why, please read this post. We execute all contracts for the exploitation of the rights, collect all revenue, and remit royalties to the producer/supplier on a quarterly basis. In a Distribution Agreement, we invest in the promotion and marketing of the content, and we are at risk for our share of this investment until we have earned revenue from which to recoup it. Read more about our marketing investments here.
In our Standard Distribution Agreement, producers share in our marketing and promotion investment by paying us a Co-op Marketing Fee at the commencement of the term. Please submit our standard Submissions Form.
Our Custom Distribution Agreement on the other hand, does not require any investment on the part of the producer other than the deliverables. It is designed for content that is big-budget, blue-chip, destined for primetime, and in-demand from the world markets. If you have content like this, please submit our Custom Distribution Agreement Submissions Form.
Whether we offer a Distribution Agreement or not depends on the following factors:
- Content quality
- Market demand for the content
- Number of hours offered (eg. one-off film or series, collection, catalog)
- Revenue potential we project
- Rights and territories offered
Sales Agency Agreements
Producers with projects in development, or who can only offer limited rights or territories, or who seek short-term agreements and greater control over the process, can consider our exclusive Sales Agency Agreements. We also work on a Sales Agency Agreement when pitching reality show formats (whether “paper formats” or formats with a proven history of success in one or more territories), or when pitching “pre-sales” (projects not yet fully funded). Our Sales Agency retainers are $6,000 for six-month term or $10,000 for a one-year term. In addition to the retainer, we earn an incentive commission on sales revenue. If you are interested in a Sales Agency Agreement, please submit our Sales Agency Submissions Form.
