Janson Media today announced the release of the international how-to painting series The Beauty of Oil Painting with Gary and Kathwren Jenkins, to international Television, VOD, New Media, Non-Theatric, and DVD/Video markets.
Husband-and-wife artists Gary and Kathwren Jenkins return to public television after a eight-year hiatus with The Beauty of Oil Painting. In their new series, the veteran hosts of Jenkins Art Studio and Jenkins Art Workshop re-introduce viewers to the art of oil painting from their studio and gallery in Reno, Nevada.
Gary and Kathwren’s shared passion for teaching is evident as the couple calmly and confidently guide viewers step-by-step through the creation of a new painting. In this series, the beauty of the Jenkins’s subjects are captured through the use of brilliant color and specific brush strokes, demonstrated from start to finish by the artists.
A contemporary of Bob Ross, Jenkins started painting on television in 1983 and is the longest active painter to ever appear on television. TV ratings for the series in the Netherlands average am 8.5% market share. In the United States, The Beauty of Oil Painting is carried by 115 PBS stations across the country, as well as by the Create TV Channel nationwide. In the taping of the 26 new episodes, Jenkins endorses cruelty-free brushes, walnut oil to clean the brushes, and only works with environmentally responsible products.
The Beauty of Oil Painting with Gary and Kathwren Jenkins (52 x 30′) was produced by Farbi Flora, GmbH, of Berlin, Germany, and is now available to international Television, VOD, DVD/Video, Non-Theatric, and New Media markets through Janson Media.
