Janson Media today announced the release of the international how-to painting series The Beauty of Oil Painting with Gary and Kathwren Jenkins, to international Television, VOD, New Media, Non-Theatric, and DVD/Video markets.
Husband-and-wife artists Gary and Kathwren Jenkins return to public television after a eight-year hiatus with The Beauty of Oil Painting. In their new series, the veteran hosts of Jenkins Art Studio and Jenkins Art Workshop re-introduce viewers to the art of oil painting from their studio and gallery in Reno, Nevada.
Gary and Kathwren’s shared passion for teaching is evident as the couple calmly and confidently guide viewers step-by-step through the creation of a new painting. In this series, the beauty of the Jenkins’s subjects are captured through the use of brilliant color and specific brush strokes, demonstrated from start to finish by the artists.
A contemporary of Bob Ross, Jenkins started painting on television in 1983 and is the longest active painter to ever appear on television. TV ratings for the series in the Netherlands average am 8.5% market share. In the United States, The Beauty of Oil Painting is carried by 115 PBS stations across the country, as well as by the Create TV Channel nationwide. In the taping of the 26 new episodes, Jenkins endorses cruelty-free brushes, walnut oil to clean the brushes, and only works with environmentally responsible products.
The Beauty of Oil Painting with Gary and Kathwren Jenkins (52 x 30′) was produced by Farbi Flora, GmbH, of Berlin, Germany, and is now available to international Television, VOD, DVD/Video, Non-Theatric, and New Media markets through Janson Media. Gary Jenkins is one of the best painters on tv. Thank you, I have learned so much from watcking you and your lovely wife Kathwren. I just orderd one of your DVDs. I due hope you are on for as long as Bob Ross god rest him, he was another great teacher. Every morning I watch one of your shows that I have on my dvr before I start in the everyday rat race. For once in my life I feel like the rats are losing the race. I goto work feeling calm and happy. Thank you both for your beauty in oil painting. God bless Rinda
In the 80’s I took classes at Royal Arts and Crafts in Atlanta, Ga. from Gary Jenkins and his wife. I was an Art Teacher at that time. They are incredibily awesome, and I am so glad to see they have returned to TV. I bought many of their books and tapes. I now live in Somerset, Ky. instead of Atlanta, Ga. and would love to see them be affiliated with Ky. Educational T.V. or PBS. There are many in this area that love to paint and this would be a wonderful program. Thank you,

I recently visited my daughter in Memphis and watched your show on tv. I was so inspired that I bought the D.V.D The Beauty of Oil Painting and brought it home to S.A Some of my friends and I get together on a Thursday morning and have learned such a lot from these great artists.Not only are they a great inspiration but Gary is also so funny that we laugh a lot at all his sayings It would be great if we could have these show here on our T.V Thank you so much for giving us an opportunity to view some of you talent on youtube.

I was at another persons home and discovered Gary and Kathwren by accident. I was so impressed by their talent. I have taken an art class and could never seem to find another one to get back into that fit my work schedule. I will be ordering their DVD to see if I can even come close to doing as great a job as they do. They are great. I would really be upset if they were not on our PBS. Thank You, suzie
