Janson Media today announced the release of the 4-hour HDTV series Discoveries… Africa: Tanzania to international Television, VOD, New Media and DVD/Video markets. Known for its wild game safari and tribal experience, this series captures the uniqueness of this amazing East African country.
Spectacular footage and breathtaking scenes bring to life the rich culture and heritage of Tanzania. The first hour in the series visits Arusha & Lake Manyara: Arusha National Park, which is considered to be a gem in the country’s “Northern Safari Circuit.” It is just 40 minutes from the safari gateway town of Arusha, Tanzania’s second-largest city. Episode #102 takes viewers to Tarangire National Park. Open grass plains of southern Maasailand boasts the largest population of Elephants anywhere in Tanzania. Its sparse vegetation, strewn with Baobab and Acacia trees, makes it an incredible location. The next episode explores Ngorongoro: The Ngorongro Crater and Conservation Area. Referred to by many as the 8th Wonder of the World and “Eden of Africa,” the crater floor covers over 100 square miles and is 2,000 feet deep. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a vast piece of real estate, covering over 3,200 square miles with the crater. In the final episode, viewers will witness some of the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world, Southern Serengeti: The Serengeti National Park/ Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Serengeti Plain is a vast expanse of east African bush with over 11,500 square miles, and was known as “Maasailand” named by early explorers for the people who lived in remarkable harmony with the wild animals there. The endless plains of East Africa are the setting for the universe’s greatest wildlife spectacle.
