The Janson Media DVD Travel with Kids: Caribbean Cruise (1 x 29′) was recommended in a recent review by Video Librarian. Produced by Equator Creative Media and filmed in High Definition, Travel With Kids is an entertaining yet practical travel adventure program featuring two real life kid brothers and their parents traveling to well-known and off-the-tourist track destinations.
In this installment of the Travel with Kids series, the Roberts family sails the clear blue waters of the Caribbean on a vessel that more closely resembles a city on the sea—complete with a mall-like promenade, onboard water park, and (natch) all the food you can eat. Being a cruise ship, the big boat takes in ports of call, stopping first in Haiti—specifically, a beautiful, pristine beach area owned and operated by the Royal Caribbean company. Next stop is Jamaica, which shows off its British history, African influence, laidback atmosphere, famous Dunn’s River Falls, and, of course, reggae music. One of the highlights for the kids takes place in the Cayman Islands, where they climb aboard a modern-day re-creation of a pirate ship, complete with a Johnny Depp (or is it Keith Richards?) lookalike. This expedition includes sailing toward the ocean liner and firing smoke (but no projectiles) from the cannon, and swabbing the decks to get a taste of life as a buccaneer. And finally, there’s strolling and shopping in Cozumel. DVD extras include Travel with Kids: Miami (on fun things to do in Miami, the debarkation point for the voyage), segments of excursions to various other Caribbean destinations, a trip planner, a bloopers reel, and tips and resources for family travel. Recommended.
Head out on a Caribbean adventure with the Roberts family on one of the largest cruise ships to ever set sail. Come aboard the Freedom of the Seas ocean liner for fun adventures on and off the ship. If you’re planning a cruise on any ship, this DVD will introduce you to the islands and show your family what its like to cruise the Caribbean, with Travel With Kids!
