The feature film Crossing Borders narrated four Moroccan and four American university students travel Moroccan together. Through their dialogue and life, they face the differences of civilizations between Islam and the West. They exchange their opinions to compare the different views between Americans and Muslims. They not only achieve the new opinion about the culture between Americans and Muslims, but also get new friendship. The relationship between the Muslim and Western worlds has been cast as a “clash of cultures,” a war between civilizations in which one is destined to prevail over the other. The clash of cultures can make many influences for each other. As the different culture, the points of view that people look at are different. If people can break down the clash of culture, the relationship between different countries can become closer. Crossing borders also means crossing the clash of culture. The eight university students get through their communication to breakdown the hinder of civilizations. I think communication is the most important way to “crossing borders”.
