Janson Media will be in Cannes for both MIPDOC 2018 and MIPTV 2018, April 7th - 12th. MIPDOC is the world’s largest screenings library, conference and co-production marketplace for the factual community. MIPTV is the oldest global TV and digital content market. At MIPTV, Janson will be exhibiting at its usual Stand #R7.J3 in the Riviera Hall of the Palais des Festivals. The company is at MIPTV for the 29th consecutive year. Company sales executives will discuss the newest additions to its exclusive catalog of over 3,000 hours of children's animation, drama series, feature films and documentaries, and factual content in the genres of current affairs, social issues, lifestyle, travel, health & wellness, adventure, sport, how-to, music, and nature & wildlife. The Janson Rights Portfolio includes Television, VOD, Digital, DVD and Non-Theatric rights.
Janson's MIPTV slate includes three new indie feature films from Ireland and Scotland. Set against the backdrop of Killarney's scenic beauty is a dark drama from director Damian O'Callaghan, The Gift, the story of a grieving widower haunted by memories of his wife as he contemplates ending his own life. Dead Along the Way, a rollicking Irish crime caper directed by Maurice O'Carroll, and Con Men, Scottish writer-director R. Paul Wilson's slick micro-budget crime-thriller, also headline Janson's film slate. The company has also partnered with U.S.-based distributor The Video Project to bring a wide range of its award-winning social issues and current affairs documentaries to the international broadcast and VOD marketplace. Episodic series for television include the music discovery series Live at 9:30, the home makeover show Life on Mar's, and new seasons of family travel shows Travel with Kids and Getting Away Together and the classic cinema profile show Hollywood Idols.
New feature-length documentaries also available as television hours include the mesmerizing Strange Occurrences in a Small Irish Village from Dublin's Underground Films, and the hilarious pop culture film, Believe: The True Story of Real Bearded Santas, from U.S. indie Paget Films.
Janson Media acquisition executives will also be shopping at both MIPDOC and MIPTV for the company's USA digital distribution catalog. Janson's acquisition wishlist includes catalogs and collections available for digital platforms in the United States and English-speaking territories worldwide. Executives in attendance include Jesse Janson, Stephen Janson, and Zara Janson. While in Cannes, they may be reached at the Grand Hotel.
