Janson Media Acquires Feature Film Vamps from Russia's Central Partnership

Janson Media today announced that it has acquired the exclusive U.S. VOD rights to the Russian feature film Vamps (81 minutes). A historical/fantasy/adventure drama set in the 18th Century and during the age when ghouls and vampires roamed the earth, the story begins when Empress Elizabeth's confessor is exiled to a monastery in a haunted mountainous region, taking his secret, ancient knowledge with him. Years later, the Empress sends her godson, Andrey, to bring the monk back home. Andrey finds the exiled monk, but before they can return to St. Petersburg they must face evil forces and creatures of the dark side.

Vamps was directed by Sergey Ginsburg and stars well-known Russian actors Michael Porechenkov, Konstantine Krukov, and Aglaya Shilovskaya. The screenplay was written by Tikhon Kornev, Aleksey Karaulov, Evgeniy Kolyadintsev, and Aleksei Timm and based on a story by Russian poet, novelist and playwright, A. K. Tolstoy. The film had a successful nationwide theatrical release in Russia in February 2017.
