The Martini: The Iconic Cocktail

Janson Media announced today that the award winning documentary The Martini - The Iconic Cocktail is now available on Amazon Video's Global Streaming service. The film was created on behalf of the Nolet Distillery and directed and produced by Pieter-Rim de Kroon of Dutch Light Films.

The Martini employs fourteen of the world's greatest bartenders to investigate the mysterious history of the most legendary cocktail of all time. They delve into the who, what, where, when, why, and how of the martini.

• Who created the first martini?
• What was the original martini recipe?
• Where was the martini first introduced?
  
• When was the martini first conceived?
  
• Why is the martini garnished with an olive?
  
• Most importantly, how is the best martini prepared?

As the film comes to a close, each bartender answers this final question and gives their take on how to prepare the best martini. "God took six days to create the perfect world," says bartender Salvatore Calabrese. "It took me five to create the perfect martini."

The documentary was produced to celebrate the 325th anniversary of The Nolet Family Distillery. The Netherlands-based company is most famous for their production of Ketel One Vodka, but they also manufacture other spirits, namely gin.

The Martini - The Iconic Cocktail was the recipient of a Gold and Silver Dolphin at the 2016 Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards.
